| You could win made-in-Michigan recipe contest |
|
July 22, 2010 – The Detroit Free Press – by Susan Selasky – Do you have a favorite recipe you created that uses primarily Michigan-grown or produced products?
It could be a winning recipe in the Hiller’s Markets and Buy Michigan Now campaign’s Michigan-Made recipe contest. Saturday is the deadline to enter the contest, in which the winner receives a $250 Hiller’s gift card. The winner’s recipe also will be sold at all Hiller’s locations for one month. Proceeds from the sales of the winning recipe will benefit a Michigan charity of the winner’s choice. Second- and third-place winners receive $100 Hiller’s gift cards and fourth place, a $50 gift card. All you need to do is make sure that your recipe has least 75% of its ingredients grown or produced in Michigan. Think locally produced cheeses, vegetables and even locally raised meats. The recipes will be narrowed down to the top four, and the final cook-off will take place Aug. 7, during the second annual Buy Michigan Now Festival, Aug. 6-8 in Northville.
