HILLER’S DELIVERS TO YOUR DOORSTEP

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- Keeping it local turns out to be environmentally sound and convenient.

Hiller’s Markets, a locally-owned community-focused grocery chain that offers the best in service, quality and selection, is pairing with a personal shopper who will deliver to customers’ homes. Orders are sent via email and delivered five days a week; the service is available through Hiller’s West Bloomfield, Commerce Township and Union Lake stores.

"Hiller’s is a company built on the philosophy that customer satisfaction is the top priority,” says Jim Hiller, CEO and owner. “By offering a personal shopper/home delivery option, we can become an even better partner to our customers, by recognizing their busy schedules and the ultimate need for efficiency and productivity."

The way it works: Customers email grocery lists to Mary Fox, who conducts transactions online through WeGoShop.com. She does all the shopping herself to fulfill orders and make deliveries, Monday through Friday. Delivery fees range from $22.50 to 10 percent for orders over $300. Fox accepts Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, cash or check. She charges an extra $2.50 if asked to pick up coupons from customers before shopping.

Fox, 48, is a mother of three who is a devoted Hiller’s shopper and locavore (she buys and consumes as many local products as she can). She delivers exclusively for Hiller’s mostly because it’s a meaningful way to promote a local company that promotes other local cottage industries and adheres to high standards.

“I’ve been a Hiller’s shopper forever; it’s my favorite store,” Fox says. “Hiller’s supports local farmers and sells Michigan produce. It jibes with my values. It’s an independent, not a conglomerate.” When she can, Fox plans to do deliveries by bicycle.

With a new 52,000 square-foot store in Union Lake-Commerce Township and one set to open in South Lyon next year, Hiller’s is dedicated to providing suburban Detroit with high-quality, customer-focused neighborhood shopping experiences.
