Hiller's supports the DIA with sale of Sesame Noodle Salad with Chicken

August 30, 2010 – Soak up some culture! As part of Hiller‟s Markets Good Deeds in the Making program to benefit local charities during these challenging economic times, the family-owned chain of seven metro Detroit grocery stores will proudly donate 100% of the profits from the sales of its popular Sesame Noodle Salad with Chicken to the Detroit Institute of Arts throughout the month of September.

This delectable, ready-to-serve dish is prepared with layers of Al dente strands of pasta tossed with roasted chicken pieces, red bell pepper, green onions, and freshly blanched pea pods then topped with a toasted sesame vinaigrette. It is available in all of Hiller's Markets' prepared food departments for $5.98 per pound.

"It is very generous of Hiller's to help out local non-profits that serve the community," said Graham W. J. Beal, DIA director. "Many of our supporters live in areas where Hiller's Markets are located, and we encourage them to stop in and try Hiller's 'DIA Special'."

Hiller’s Good Deeds in the Making program was created last year as a way to inspire consumers to purchase high-quality, ready-to-eat, great-tasting meals while helping good causes in their communities. This month‟s charity, the Detroit Institute of Arts, is celebrating 125 years of serving the community through its world-class collection, special exhibitions, and engaging programs. The DIA serves hundreds of thousands of adults and children every year, and like Hiller's, offers something for every taste.
