Hiller's Partners with Gleanors and Forgotten Harvest for Hunger Free Summer
June 24, 2011 – Justin Hiller, vice president of Hiller’s Markets – speaking at a press conference – announced that Hiller’s  is making a dollar-for-dollar match of up to $50,000 for donations made by Hiller’s customers for the Hungry Free Summer program sponsored by Forgotten Harvest, Gleaners Community Food Bank and Charter One Foundation. The collaborative effort will help raise $2 million that will provide meals to hungry southeast Michigan children this summer.

"We have had a long-standing relationship with Gleaners and this Hunger Free Summer program exemplifies the Hiller's commitment to supporting our community," said Justin Hiller. "We are always looking for ways to give back and support organizations making a difference in the community."

More than 300,000 children in southeast Michigan receive free or reduced-fee meals during the school year. In the summer months, they often go without food. Every $1 donation provides eight nutritious lunches for hungry children in southeastern Michigan.
