Finding the time to grab a healthy snack can be difficult for most. Some
of this difficulty is not knowing what is healthy and what isn’t. The
list below is Hiller’s top ten healthy and easy snacks. Instead of grabbing a handful of chips, cake or cookies take a look at the list below to find some sweet, tasty snack alternatives. 1. Fruit: apples, bananas, oranges, grapes...anything goes! 2. Veggies: carrot sticks, celery, edamame...the sky's the limit! 3. Larabars, Kashi TLC granola bars, Luna Bars, Nutrigrain bars BUT watch the fat. Some are better than others 4. Single servings of nuts or trailmix: Save money and packaging by buying in bulk and portioning at home. 5. Pre-portioned cheese: String cheese, Laughing Cow wedges 6. Crunch: Kashi TLC crackers, Soy Crisps 7. Peanut butter: Smear it on apples or crackers. 8. Skinny B Frozen Yogurt 9. Popcorn: Bring air-popped corn from home. 10. Cereal: Go for lower-sugar options or oatmeal. Some of these foods take slight preparation but can only benefit the body and the waistline. Remember portion control is key; be sure to read the package for the proper serving or use a food scale to measure.
